What we do

Full house design
From the first walk-through to the day the last chair arrives. Drawings, joinery detailing, finishes, furniture and the ordering.

Single rooms
A kitchen, a bedroom, a room that has never quite worked. Often the way a longer relationship starts.

Colour and finishes
Paint, tile, stone and timber selected together and specified properly, so a builder can price it without guessing.

Furniture and joinery
Drawn for the room it lives in and made by people we have worked with for years, mostly in Auckland.

Renovation support
On site through the build, answering the questions that come up at 7am so the work does not stop.
- 06
Styling and handover
The last week. Art hung, beds made, the kitchen usable on the first night.
About the studio
Older houses need deciding what to keep.
Marlow & Vine is in Grey Lynn. Over 11 years, it has been one table and one person. We take on six or seven houses a year. That is deliberate. It is how many can be seen through without handing any of them to someone else.
Most of the work is older Auckland houses. Villas and bungalows altered two or three times already, usually badly. Deciding what to keep is most of the job. The rest is arithmetic.
Drawings get issued to the builder properly so a price can be given without guesswork. The joinery is made by people we have used for years. Somebody from here is on site through the build, answering the questions that come up at 7am so the work does not stop.
